A short warm-up on flat sand to get the feel of the throttle, brakes and steering before the dunes begin.

Follow your guide deep into the red dunes - climbs, ridge runs and bowl descents, with the pace matched to your confidence.

Pause at a high dune for sandboarding and photographs of your buggy on the ridge line.

Ride back, hand in your gear and cool off with water. Extended sessions can be arranged on the spot.

Yes. Children can ride as passengers with an adult at the wheel, and helmets are provided in children's sizes. Every seat has its own racing harness. Riders must be 16 or over to drive.

You can swap the driver during the session by stopping safely and signalling your guide. Bear in mind the 45 minutes covers the vehicle, so every swap uses a little riding time.

It carries more weight, so it climbs steep faces a little less sharply, but the 1000cc engine handles it easily and your guide picks a route suited to the vehicle. The experience is just as exciting.

No licence and no experience are needed. Every vehicle is automatic, and your session begins with a full safety briefing and controls walkthrough. A professional guide leads the group throughout, setting a pace that matches the least experienced rider.

Helmets, goggles and protective gear are provided free of charge for every rider, and all equipment is checked before each session. Buggies are fitted with roll cages, racing harnesses and safety nets. We recommend closed shoes and long trousers for extra comfort and protection.

Closed-toe shoes are essential - sandals and flip-flops are not permitted for safety reasons. Wear comfortable clothes you do not mind getting dusty, and consider a scarf or buff over your nose and mouth. Sunglasses help enormously with the fine sand and glare.

Pickup and drop-off are not included in the standard price, and most guests drive directly to our desert meeting point. Transfers can be arranged on request for an additional charge - just tell us your hotel or area when booking and we will quote you.

Riders must be 16 or older to drive solo. Younger children are welcome as passengers in a two or four seater vehicle accompanied by an adult. There is no upper age limit as long as you are in reasonable health and comfortable holding the controls.

Yes. GoPros and action cameras can be mounted on the roll cage or handlebars, and phones are best kept in a zipped pocket during the ride. Our guides are happy to stop for photos at the top of the dunes and will gladly take shots of your group.

It happens to everyone at some point and it is part of the fun. Your guide is trained in dune recovery and carries a radio to call support vehicles, so you will be moving again within minutes at no extra cost.

No deposit is collected for normal riding. Guests are, however, expected to follow the guide's instructions - reckless riding away from the group that results in damage may be chargeable, which is why the safety briefing matters.

Yes. Rides operate all year, but between June and September we strongly recommend early morning slots from 5:00 AM or evening slots after 5:00 PM, when the sand and air are dramatically cooler. Water is provided throughout.

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your scheduled slot. Inside 24 hours the booking is non-refundable, though we will always try to reschedule you to another day if the track allows.
